Short version: this site sets no cookies, runs no advertising or tracking tags, and collects no analytics. There is one thing stored on your device that I cannot switch off, and it is described in full below rather than left out.

Most of them list forty vendors and ask you to accept all. This site has none of that. There is no advertising pixel, no remarketing tag, no social widget, no chat bubble, no embedded map and no embedded video. The typeface is served from this site rather than from a font network, so no third party learns your IP address because you read a page here.

That is not a privacy stance so much as a build decision that happened to be both faster and cleaner.

None. Not one, of any kind.

The one thing that is stored on your device

The honest part, and the part most notices would leave out because it is not technically a cookie.

This site is built on a platform called Base44. When your browser first loads a page, the platform's code stores a random identifier in your browser's local storage, under the name base44_analytics_session_id. It looks like 7rdbwk5shu5d4f7b9n1ql. It stays there until you clear your browsing data, and it is sent to Base44 with every request this site makes to its own servers.

Why I am telling you about it. The rules that cover cookies in the UK are not actually about cookies. They cover storing anything on your device, or reading anything off it, and local storage is squarely inside that. A notice that said "no cookies" and stopped would be true and misleading at the same time.

What it is for. It gives the platform a way to recognise repeat requests from the same browser without knowing who you are. It is not linked to your name or your email address, and I could not connect it to you even if I wanted to.

Why there is no button to refuse it. Because I cannot honestly offer you one. It is written by the platform's own code, on the same request that fetches the page you asked for, and there is no setting that turns it off. A banner offering a choice I cannot actually honour would be worse than telling you plainly.

What I did do. The platform also collected page-view and session analytics keyed to that identifier. On 13 September 2026 I switched that off. No analytics events are sent from this site any more, which you can confirm for yourself in the section below. The identifier is what remains, and it remains because it is welded into how the site talks to its own backend.

If that is not acceptable to you, clearing site data for this domain removes it, and your browser can block storage for this site entirely. The site will still work.

I would quite like to know which pages get read. I have not found a way to do it yet that does not either store something else on your device or hand your visit to another company, so for now I am doing without. If that changes, this page gets rewritten and re-dated before it goes live, and if the method needs your permission then you will be asked for it properly, with a refuse button the same size as the accept button.

What will never go on this site: advertising or remarketing tags, cross-site tracking, anything that follows you elsewhere, or a wall that makes you choose before you can read.

How to check any of this yourself

You do not have to take my word for it. Open your browser's developer tools on any page here:

  • Application, then Cookies — empty.
  • Application, then Local Storage — one entry, the identifier described above.
  • Network, then reload — around a dozen requests, all to this site or to media.base44.com, and none of them to an analytics service.

If you find something I have not described, tell me and I will either explain it or remove it.

The privacy notice covers what happens to your name, email address and message if you send an enquiry, and names every company involved in storing it.
